About Whistle Stop Welder

We are Rachel and Gabe Jones, owners and operators of Whistle Stop Welder.

Mike “Buz” Gentry, my Uncle Buz, started this business from scratch and poured his heart and soul into it after a 42-year career as a welder. I love that I am able to keep his business up and going—with the same heart and soul—even after he is gone.

When Uncle Buz, a retired welder, was ready to pass Whistle Stop Leather Shop to a member of the family, I was the natural choice.

My husband Gabe and I purchased the leather shop, which was originally known for crafting premium custom leather saddles, and collaborated with Uncle Buz to develop a line of protective leather products for welders in the pipeline industry.

Gabe, who is now a welding inspector in the oil and gas industry, knows a thing or two about what pipeline welders need to stay safe and comfortable in the field.

And I have a heart for people.

Together, we design the most durable, comfortable, and cost-effective leather protective gear available.

I cut, stitch, and etch or stamp every leather item we sell because I care not only about the guys and girls welding pipelines, but I care also about the legacy Uncle Buz established crafting premium leather products.
